Presently in our vineyard we have established plantings of three outstanding grape varieties that are capable of producing award winning wines.
Produced in a Germanic style, La Crescent wine is reminiscent of Vignoles or Riesling. LaCrescent has a nose of apricot, peach, and citrus that lends itself to superior quality off-dry or sweet white wines. The grape's high acidity provides a good structure for excellent dessert or late-harvest style wines.
Frontenac gris wines present aromas of peach and apricot with hints of enticing citrus and tropical fruit. A brilliant balance of fruit and acidity creates lively, refreshing wines. Unique and complex flavors make this an excellent grape for a table, dessert, and ice wines.
Marquette wines are complex, with attractive ruby color, pronounced tannins, and desirable notes of cherry, berry, black pepper, and spice on both nose and palate. As a red wine, Marquette represents a new standard in cold hardy viticulture and enology.
Be good stewards of the land, grow quality fruit, handcraft great tasting wines, enjoy with our friends.
We believe that it is our responsibility to farm the land carefully, in harmony with nature and to protect the environment and our neighbors. We practice and employ sustainable techniques to minimize erosion, conserve water, minimize the use of chemicals and recycle wast. As an example we:
minimize sprays by monitoring harmful insect populations and spraying only when absolutely necessary
grow sod cover in our row middles to prevent soil erosion and to maintain a complex ecosystem
maintain wild habitat near our vineyard and orchard, with no bare soil to increase drought resistance
promote natural predation in our vineyards by using bird boxes and wild habitats
hand prune and harvest and pay careful attention to fruit selection
